Coordinate with clients to define work programs and budgets, provide leadership in project planning and strategy including general oversight and planning, project management, project implementation, and ensuring quality of work productsCoordinate design development and/or assist in providing technical direction to the scope of projects; provide senior:level technical expertise on bridge projects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of contracts for constructionSupervise, develop, evaluate and assign work to bridge section staff members.Work closely with other disciplines on multi:discipline projectsResponsible for preparation and completion of discipline engineering designs that are responsive to project needsCoordinate preparation of design details, plans, and drawings within assigned task areasStructural analysis, design and detailing of highway and railroad bridges and other transportation related structures and providing complete design efforts with minimal directionDevelop and check project design criteria, design calculations, construction details, quantities and cost estimates Required Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering6 years of related bridge design experience in a civil engineering firm required. 10 years or more experience preferred.Preferred Qualifications:Indiana PE CertificationSome previous project management experienceExperience working in a multi:disciplinary, collaborative engineering environmentExperience managing, designing and delivering INDOT bridge projectsExperience developing scope, schedule and feeExperience using bridge design and analysis software such as CSI Bridge, CONSPAN, RC:Pier, MDX or similar programsExperience using Microsoft Office, MathCAD and Microstation or AutoCADExcellent written and oral communications skills Environment and Physical Requirements: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight:hour period, reach vertically for overhead use as well as horizontally.
