Job Summary
We are currently looking forProduction Laborers for our glass manufacturing facility in the Park 100 area of Indianapolis, IN. This position requires that glass is moved from one position/location to another in an effort to expedite the product throughout the plant. Primary duties are to efficiently load/unload glass,inspect material for quality, and properly sort glass to the appropriate racks. We are looking for hard workers who want to grow and develop with us.Second shift hours are typically Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm to11:00 pm.These positions may have daily or weekend overtime as dictated by the production schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:
On/off:loading of glass product from, tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates.
:
Utilizea tape measure to ensure product is within the product specifications
:
Break away excess glass by hand and/or with glass pliers
:
Use of dolly, crane, pallet jack, glass cups, glass sheet pull tool, tape measure, pliers, glasscutter, and other various tools
:
Identification, sourcing, and placement of materials in carts/racks as preparation for another department's usage
:
Transportmaterials, including glass, from one position/location to another
:
Read and attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages
:
Operate equipment, and/or manually maneuver equipment
:
Understandlayout of the facility to ensure proper product flow
:
Quality inspection of product for any abnormalities andlog results
:
Maintain a safe and clean work area
:
Regular and predictable attendance including overtime
:
The team concept instituted for shop floor production workers requires each worker to perform different functions on a rotating basis
:
Notify lead person or supervisor of any mechanical or material issues
:
Safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures
:
All production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of production
:
All other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
To be considered for a Production Laborer position, the following conditions must be met:
:
High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred
:
At least two (2) years of previous work experience in a warehouse, manufacturing or production facility, required
:
Must be able to perform general math and readmeasurements and effectively use a tapemeasure
:
Ability to read, understand, and communicate paperwork and labels
:
Must work well in a team environment and have strong communication skills
:
Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements
:
Must be able to work overtime as needed
:
Be willing to work overtime as required
:
Previous glass experience highly desirable
Physical Requirements
:
Must be physically capable of routinely lifting up to 75 lbs. and product of greater weight with moving aids and/or support help throughout the day

Frequent bending and twisting
:
Occasional kneeling/crawling, climbing, squatting, typing
:
Ability to stand on concrete for the entire shiftsteel toe shoes with metatarsal guards
:
Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.).
