Job Description Marian University’s Leighton School of Nursing has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Nursing Student Success. Major responsibilities include academic advising and coaching, recruitment, and retention of prospective and enrolled nursing students. The director interacts with faculty, academic success coaches (educational partner), professional staff, students, and other college personnel to enhance and facilitate the admission, progression, and graduation of students. This position reports to the BSN program directors and the Dean. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs all responsibilities in accordance with established policies and procedures of Marian University and The Leighton School of Nursing (LSON) Directs and guides the academic success coaches (education partner) with established policies and procedures of Marian University and the LSON. Serves as a representative of Marian University within the community Provides academic advising for pre-nursing and nursing students Coaches all students toward academic success Assists students with the registration of classes Advises and refers students to appropriate departments as needed Monitors and documents student progress from admission, progression and through graduation regarding grades, GPA, degree audits and program requirements Maintains student files to ensure compliance with the LSON requirements Communicates concerns in regard to student progress to student, faculty and Dean Serves on the Admission, Progression and Success LSON Committees Coordinates event days with other university offices as needed Creates the LSON class schedule with program directors Creates clinical groups for all campus based students Administer social media accounts Other duties as assigned.
