Title Director Educator Field Force

Job Description

Provides business unit development and leadership of a high-performing educator field force. Develop and execute Educator Strategy that increase injectable volume and improves adherence.

Reports to the Vice President (VP). Manages an entire Educator Area Business Unit, and has direct supervisory responsibility for EMs and indirectly the Educators. Interacts with senior/executive-level management across the Commercial Business Unit

Essential Functions
Adhere to Support and Implement Company Policies, Procedures and Commercial Direction throughout the Area: Adhere to applicable company and workplace and policies. Ensure timely and accurate transmission of Educator and manager required data e.g. customer coverage/call data, time accountability data, etc. Monitor and reinforce the use of any applicable systems.

Administration: Develop and monitor performance against budgets. Ensure timely and accurate submission of administrative requirements. Establish and oversee implementation, and monitor adherence to administrative policies and procedures. Evaluate appropriate use of resources to ensure attainment of goals. Review and audit expense reports.

Business Results: Achieve Education Program objectives consistent with the National Diabetes goals. Operate within budget and obtain financial targets.

Leadership (Direction, Alignment, Motivation): Align the Educator team with each other as well as other field personnel e.g. Sales and Account Executive teams. Establish a vision consistent with the Novo Nordisk Way. Provide clear direction, inspiration and motivation of the Educator team. Take the initiative, anticipate and solve problems. Directs the effective use of promotional programs and ensures EP training programs are following approved national guidelines. Obtains high retention of top performers and manages performance.

Strategic Business Involvement: Develop and execute business plans that result in achievement of Novo Nordisk Inc (NNI) business results consistent with company objectives. Includes customer identification and prioritization, competitive analysis, business success requirements and implementation plans, future trends, etc. Coordinate Educator Program resources. Participate as a member in the National, Area and Regional planning process.

Physical Requirements
50-75% overnight travel required. Must maintain a valid drivers license and obey all applicable traffic laws.

Development of People


* A minimum of 10 years progressive health-related system or pharmaceutical industry experience required
* A minimum of 5 years progressive management experience required
* A proven track record of successful leadership required
* Proven ability to provide innovative business solutions to influence area-wide/national business strategies
