Assistant/Associate Professor of Health Sciences and Diversity Initiatives Facilitator Position Overview Butler University is seeking qualified applicants for a full time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty position in Department of Health Sciences. We are seeking an energetic colleague with teaching and research experience in the areas of public health and health disparities, as well as experience with recruiting, supporting, and retaining students from under-represented populations. Applicants should have the desire to work collaboratively with students, staff, faculty, and administrators from all areas of campus. Primary responsibilities: Teaching: Teach public health and health disparities courses to undergraduate health science, healthcare & business, and pharmacy students. Provide support to other courses as needed. Provide academic advising to undergraduate health science and/or healthcare and business students Service: Assist the College with recruiting, supporting, retaining, and graduating students from underrepresented populations. Actively participate in committees/work groups within the Department of Health Sciences, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and/or University as needed Increase and strengthen existing relationships with health & education related organizations in the Indianapolis community Scholarly activity: Research and publication per individual interests and expertise Mentoring and advising undergraduate student research Qualifications and Requirements: Successful candidates will possess a terminal degree in a field directly related to health sciences/healthcare education. A doctorate at time of appointment is preferred. However, ABD candidates close to completion may also be considered. Previous academic experience desired.
