Job Description
Senior Storage Administrator

Newcore Technology Group supports the DoDs only integrated payroll and personnel system. We provide software engineering and migration services, data warehouse, data management, and business process improvement support.

We are currently looking for a highly experienced Senior Storage Administrator to join our team.


Responsibilities
Manage NetApp storage systems, both c:mode and 7:mode, containing 600 TB raw storage.
Manage a Dell EqualLogic PS6500X system with 85 TB raw storage using the iSCSI protocol.
Check the status of aggregates, volumes, and LUNs using scripts, monitoring tools, and OnCommand System Manager.
Check storage event logs for any pro:active measures.
Configure and monitor network interfaces.
Configure, troubleshoot, and restore snapshots.
Configure and manage exports and export policies to securely present volumes to NFS clients.
Create and manage NetApp flexclones upon request.
Perform storage system OS upgrades including NetApp Data ONTAP and Dell SAN HQ.
Perform firmware updates for any storage:related hardware including but not limited to disk drives, disk shelves, management boards, etc.
Add and configure disk shelves to existing storage systems in a high availability configuration.
Resolve software and hardware issues with coordination from NetApp Tech Support and Engineers.
Manage environment data usage reports on a weekly basis.
Create and manage NetApp Qtrees and quotas.
Configure and manage NetApp Storage Efficiency including compression and deduplication.
Configure NetApp Virtual Storage Console for vSphere to create and restore VM backups.

Basic Qualifications
Ability to work well by self and with other members of team.
Ability to be part of a 24x7 on:call rotation for after hour and weekend production support.
Hardworking, detail:oriented, self:motivated, quick learner.
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Strong and effective written and oral communication skills.
Proactive approach to problem solving.

Required Qualifications
7+ years of storage administration experience in a 24x7 environment.
3+ years of experience with VMware (ESX/ESXi, vSphere, vCenter) or equivalent virtual software.
Thorough understanding of the NFS, CIFS, and iSCSI protocols in a predominantly VMware virtualized Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
Strong experience and understanding of VMware vSphere 6.0 and 6.5.
Strong commitment to ensuring Security Technical Implementation Guidelines are maintained.

Preferred Qualifications

ITIL Foundation V3 Certification
