I have a client in Carmel, IN looking to add a Senior Java Developer to their team. This is a permanent, full:time position with benefits. The initial project is converting a monolithic app into Microservices. I need someone who has spearheaded a project converting to Microservices. The rest of the team does not have much experience in Microservices so we are looking for someone who is an expert and is willing to share the knowledge. After the initial project, there are potentially 200+ more apps to be converted.
You will be leading a team of 3 developers, working with the Architecture team and other engineering groups. In addition to strong Microservices knowledge, you will need some experience with Kafka and Openshift or Kubernetes.
This is a great opportunity to shape the future direction of the IT department Position can also be located in Eagan, MN.
Salary range will be around 110 : 120k. More details below.

Specific experience in the following required:
:Working on Agile software development team
:Hands:on Software Development experience
:Experience with test:driven development
:Experience with event:driven architecture ( Kafka )
:Experience with highly scalable web applications.
Technical Capabilities:
:Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
:Ability to learn, use, implement and integrate leading technologies.
:Experience with no:SQL databases such as MongoDB (preferred)
:Experience with Graph database such as Neo4J (preferred)
:Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases and SQL.
:Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including Rest, SOAP, HTTP and JSON
:Experience with high volume, highly available and data intensive applications
:Experience with Platform as a Service (PaaS) such as Openshift, Pivotal Cloud Foundry
:Experience with Oracle and/ or SQL Server
:Design and develop high:volume, low:latency applications for mission:critical systems, delivering high:availability and performance.
:Codes, tests, debugs, documents and delivers modified and new programs to meet business and compliance requirements
:Collaborate with architects, database engineers, and other software developers in conceptualizing, initiating and developing new software programs and applications in a PaaS environment ( Open Shift )
:Provide expert technical advice and guidelines for each of the core architecture domains (e.g. application, integration, data, infrastructure, delivery)
:Works closely with assigned business groups to define application enhancements and requirements
:Assist in translating business requirements into project or design plans
:Create integration solutions that can successfully integrate across multiple systems within the company environment and meet requirements
:Maintains integrity of program logic and coding, and establishes required checks and balances for operational controls.
:Monitors production programs for expected performance and responds to errors and emergency problems
:Uses coding methods for specific programming language to enhance or initiate efficient program execution and performance, and to reach optimum hardware utiliza
