**THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD EXCEPTED POSITION
OPEN TO ANY CURRENT OFFICER OF THE INDIANA ANG/ARMY NATIONAL GUARD (ARMY GUARD OFFICERS MUST GAIN MEMBERSHIP TO THE AIR NATIONAL GUARD IF SELECTED)**
This National Guard position is for a ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, Position Description Number **D2368000**and is part of the IN HQ IN ANG, National Guard.

**NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED**: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

### Responsibilities
As a ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, GS-0341-12, you will**:**
* Ensures internal systems and procedures for carrying out the organization's administrative functions meet the requirements of balancing costs, benefits, productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
* Initiates, plans, directs, and/or participates in special studies and projects in areas such as; resource utilization, personnel management, logistical support, knowledge management, readiness programs, etc.
* Represents the Wing in meetings with congressional, state and local officials, special interest and business group spokespersons to market and advertise ANG programs, activities, and requirements to gain support for ANG missions.
* Collaborates and consults with Wing Public Affairs Officer (PAO), drafts, develops, and finalizes narrative, prepares and coordinates news releases with State JFHQ to support communication with local media, high-ranking public officials, corporate leadership, civic groups, other reserve components, Air Force, Army, National Guard Bureau (NGB) and respective headquarters staff representatives.
* Performs as the historian, responsible to ensure timely, complete and accurate capture and cataloging of significant historical data, and generation of required reports.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Air National Guard Membership is required.
* Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
* Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
* May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
***MILITARY REQUIREMENTS***:
**Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement**. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.

**Compatible Military Assignments**: 038FX
**Military Specialty Requirements:** Individuals must meet the qualifications for the technician position but will have 1 year from date of hire to be assigned to a compatible MOS/AFSC in a compatible unit for the technician position advertised.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
**After appointment, reassignment, change to lower grade or promotion through an Indiana job vacancy announcement, an employee must wait at least 18 months before applying for another technician position. This does NOT INCLUDE Temp appointments (Tenure 0) or Temp Promotions. ### Qualifications
***GENERAL EXPERIENCE***: Experience, education or training in managing or directing, one or more programs, including appropriate supporting service organizations. Supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work experience and/or training which has provided knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques. Experience using computer and automation systems.
**SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:**36 months experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions. Experience preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence. Experience evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various resources. Experience utilizing the organization, its mission and the organizational staff procedures. Experience using quantitative and qualitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of administrative and technical programs. Experience developing the mission and work processes of programs throughout the military organization and multi level agencies. Experience in analytical and investigative techniques.
### Education
**Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience -** Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the 6 Month credit requirements.
