Join BKD's growing Transaction Services practice and perform due diligence and consulting services while living outside of the traditional major markets. This team provides insight and expertise to clients related to buying and selling a business. Working with private equity groups and corporate acquirers, BKD's team helps execute financial due diligence. The data analytics group, within the Transaction Services practice utilizes its unique economic modeling methodology, along with data mining and data analysis techniques to uncover insights about business performance. Our team works to understand profit drivers and trends, challenge assumptions of future performance and assist with purchase agreements and post-closing transaction matters. Responsibilities:Advise clients on enhancing financial opportunities and mitigating risk associated with mergers and acquisitions.Analyze financial and operational results of target companies using accounting information and interviews with management.Mine business system datasets, often large, for transactional data and assemble and analyze insightful views of company performance.Construct robust economic models to analyze inputs of revenue and cost types.Prepare and evaluate pro forma financial information.Research industry standards and trends, target companies or other information affecting the acquisition.Write and/or review detailed reports correlating due diligence and financial analysis findings with client valuations.Identify issues affecting purchase price, deal structure or deal termination.Recommend post-acquisition actions to achieve anticipated earnings/cash flow improvements.Evaluate effects of seasonality and cyclicality on cash flow requirements.Work alongside other BKD team members to manage client expectations.Qualifications:Required Skills:Strong data mining and analysis aptitudeMastery of ExcelProficient understanding of relational databases and working knowledge of related tools (ie Access, ACL, SQL)Creative thinking and ability to devise alternative ways to work around data deficiencies, when they arise Understanding of components of cost accounting in manufacturing environmentStrong current knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Experience with current audit and accounting conceptsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentWillingness and ability to travel when necessaryRequired Experience:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related area required2 to 4 years of experience in one of the following areas with a public accounting firm or investment bank: accounting, financial audit or transaction experience (experience related to mergers and acquisitions or due diligence preferred), modelingCPA license preferredExperience the BKD difference for yourself.
