Job Description
The Controller is responsible for maintaining full general ledger responsibilities for the company. It is a dynamic position that will require excellent communication skills and coordination with various departments within the company. Salary plus corporate bonuses with 3 weeks paid holidays and generous PTO plan. Requirements include:
Training/Education
Minimum of a Bachelors degree in accounting is required
Experience/Skills
:Quickbooks experience preferred, but not required
:CPA STRONGLY preferred
:Demonstrated understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles and their application
Special Requirements
:Excellent oral and written communication skills
:Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to deal with various tasks, environments, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
:Highly motivated with ability to solve problems and take ownership of projects and results
:Excellent computer skills, with emphasis on web based applications
:General knowledge of the financial services industry preferred
:Must maintain confidentiality ability to take initiative and be a self:starter
:Flex schedule a possibility
Essential Functions:
:Apply GAAP accounting principles to prepare, analyze, maintain and deliver complete and accurate financial reports for the company on a weekly, bi:weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
:Responsible for the monthly closing of the general ledger, performing financial reporting and analysis, as well as general accounting functions using independent judgement to analyze and resolve accounting issues
:Create and post journal entries
:Preparation of bank reconciliations, order processing and handling of investment directives
:Ensures that all expenses, receipts, owner distributions, funding requests, and other transactions for the accounting period have been accurately distributed and reported
:Ensure internal and external reporting requirements are consistently met
:Monitor procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with Company policies
:Timely reporting of any work related injuries to the workers compensation insurance company
:Comply with all local, state and federal regulations as well as all company policies and procedures
:Prepare and file taxes for all companies and personal tax returns for the owners
:Provide strategic advice as it relates to tax strategies for the company and ownersCompany Description
